Now, where to first! Well, how about the Abbot’s Bar, which is situated in the Abbey Court Hotel, is a haven for guests and locals alike, and is a very popular choice for Bars in Nenagh. As the Abbey Court Hotel website also states: ‘Come and relax in a family friendly atmosphere while enjoying drinks and delicious food that is served daily.’

The Hibernian Inn

The Hibernian Inn

The Hibernian Inn is another example of the type of fine comfortable location that Nenagh town has to offer; located right in the centre of Nenagh town, The Hi-Bi, as it is known locally, is renowned for its fine wines and cuisine, friendly atmosphere and enjoyable banter.

Rockys Bar

Rocky’s

Another premises that’s situated right in the centre of town, is Rocky’s! This legendary establishment is well-known the length and breath of Ireland as an old style Irish family run pub with a good choice of drinks. Lounge and Bar area with cosy seating, stove fires and high stools with comfortable backs.

Una Powell's

Una Powell’s

Una Powell’s is a gem that can easily be found in Nenagh town. It’s a traditional old-style Irish pub that is a throwback to a different era. It’s like walking into a time-warp, and the atmosphere is much the same at times. As the nenagh.ie website states: ‘A warm welcome, roaring fire and the finest pints await you here!

Paddy Rohan's

Paddy Rohan’s

Another blast from the past is Paddy Rohan’s, which is situated along one of the oldest streets in Nenagh. This establishment is also an original old-style Irish pub that just has to be seen to be believed. The sessions go on to the small wee hours in a friendly atmosphere that is hard to beat!

The Half Barrel

The Half Barrel

The Half Barrel is most likely the smallest bar in the area, but some of the biggest craic can be enjoyed in this very cosy setting. As they say, this place is always rockin’; Even Elvis is known to frequent the building, as the linked video here suggests!

There are a number of other establishments that are also very well worth a visit, whether it’s up Silver Street, or Connolly Street (depending on your politics), and a visit to the Silvermine, Madden’s or Philly’s, or maybe down Kenyon Street to MacMathuna’s, The Talbot, The Kenyon, or to Sarsfield Street to The Well or Andy’s or The Dapp Inn, there is a wonderful list of welcoming public houses in Nenagh town, and each with something different to offer, so why not let the hair down and enjoy yourself when you visit Nenagh. Next week we’ll look at what places there are to go to, so if anyone has any suggestions, please contact us! So long for now!
